ABOUT

Hi and welcome to my site!

I'm Leigh Conant, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a specialty in couples therapy.
My passion is to help couples create stronger connections and healthier relationships.
Additionally, I work with individuals assisting you in building the relationships you long for, whether it's your intimate or dating relationships, friendships, at work, with extended family, or with your inner self.
In my work, I come alongside your journey as a couple or individual expanding your capacity to understanding yourself and your patterns, manage life stressors, work through stress and trauma, and enhance resiliency. I also have extensive experience working with the military community.

I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) and Supervisor, providing EFT to couples, individuals and families; and supervising clinicians who are learning the EFT model.
I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).

I earned my master’s of science degree from Virginia Tech’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program and am licensed in the state of Virginia, North Carolina and Louisiana. I am an avid runner, biker, hiker, have a deep love for golden retrievers, and am a military spouse (married to a Marine!)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Supervision for Therapists
If you're seeking to grow your skills in Emotionally Focused Therapy or working toward EFT certification, I offer individual supervision designed to support your professional development in this powerful, evidence-based model—whether you're just beginning your journey or refining your skills. I’ve been studying EFT since 2012 and have been a helper/group facilitator at multiple EFT trainings since 2014. I’ve learned from, worked with and been supervised by a handful of trainers, including George Faller, Kathryn Rheem, James Hawkins, Jim Furrow, and Ryan Rana, and many amazing EFT supervisors along the way. I am currently a co-facilitator for the New Orleans-Metairie EFT Peer Group
Purpose of EFT Supervision:
EFT supervision is a space for learning, reflection, and clinical growth. Its primary goal is to help you deepen your understanding of attachment theory, strengthen your attunement to emotional processes in the therapy room, and refine your use of EFT interventions. Whether you're in the early stages of learning or preparing for formal certification, supervision helps ground your work in the model’s core principles and builds confidence in your work with couples and individuals
How It Works:
Supervision sessions are collaborative and experiential. We’ll review your cases (with video or audio when possible), explore your therapist stance, and identify key EFT moves to enhance your sessions. You’ll receive clear, supportive feedback tailored to your learning goals, and we’ll work together to sharpen your skills in tracking cycles, accessing emotion, and creating secure bonds with clients. We’ll use role-playing for skill development, and I also offer live supervision as an option, where I attend a therapy session(s) in a consultant role. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity for supervisees and clients alike!
Benefits of EFT Supervision:
-
Increased confidence and clarity in applying EFT
-
A deeper understanding of the model’s steps and stages
-
Support in meeting ICEEFT supervision and certification requirements
-
Opportunities for self-reflection, personal growth, and community connection
Whether you're looking for consultation, mentorship, or formal supervision hours, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you deepen your skills, grow your confidence, and bring the healing power of EFT more fully into your work. Let’s connect and take the next step in your professional development together.
